Blog Tour: Freak of Nature

------------------------------------------------------

SYNOPSIS:
Donate Body to Science. Check.

When seventeen-year-old Kaitlyn checked the box, she never suspected she’d have her life–and her body–stolen from her. She awakens one day in a secret laboratory to discover that her body is now half-robot and is forced to hide her own secret: that she still has human emotions and a human mind. If the scientists who made her find out, they’ll erase what remains of who she was.

Kaitlyn finds an unlikely ally in Lucas, a handsome, brilliant scientist who can’t get over the guilt he feels knowing she was once a vibrant, beautiful young woman. He never expected a science project to affect him the way she does. As he tries to help her rediscover her past, he finds himself falling for the brave girl struggling to find her place and acceptance between the human and computer worlds.

MEET THE AUTHOR:
Julia Crane is the author of the Coexist: Keegan's Chronicles. She has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. Julia has believed in magical creatures since the day her grandmother first told her an Irish tale. Growing up her mother greatly encouraged reading and using your imagination. Although she's spent most of her life on the US east coast, she currently lives in Dubai with her husband and three children.

1) WHAT IS ONE OF THE MOST SURPRISING THINGS YOU LEARNED IN CREATING ANY OF YOUR BOOKS?

How the story seems to magically appear before your eyes. I never really know where the story is going to go, and then I'll be washing dishes or taking and walk and think that's it! And start writing.

2) WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?

I'm really excited, because I just started Rourk. A continuation of Keegan's Chronicles. Rourk will be deeper and darker

3) IF YOU COULD TAKE ONE OF YOUR BOOK BOYFRIENDS OUT ON A DATE IN THE REAL WORLD, WHO WOULD IT BE & WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

I would say Rourk, but he's far too young for me, so Keegan's father Richard. A lot of his characteristics resemble my husbands. Ideal date would be a long weekend somewhere I've never been and a lot of time outdoors. No kids!

Wishlist Wednesday (#2)

------------------------------------------------------

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop hosted by Dani at Pen to Paper. You will post about one book a week that is on your wishlist. It can be on you just added or one that's been on your list for awhile.

 ------------------------------------------------------

This week the book on my wishlist is...

Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate... until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

This was added to my TBR list around the same time Divergent by Veronica Roth was. It's another one of those ones I just haven't gotten around to reading yet but I would love to!

Wishlist Wenesday (#1)

------------------------------------------------------

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop hosted by Dani at Pen to Paper. You will post about one book a week that is on your wishlist. It can be on you just added or one that's been on your list for awhile.

------------------------------------------------------

This week the book on my wishlist is...

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue--Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are--and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

Debut author Veronica Roth bursts onto the literary scene with the first book in the Divergent series--dystopian thrillers filled with electrifying decisions, heartbreaking betrayals, stunning consequences, and unexpected romance.

------------------------------------------------------

I've been wanting to read this book for a while but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Then once I heard it's in the process of becoming a movie, I'm now on a mission to get this book and have it read before it comes out! They currently have the release date at March 21st, 2014. So I still have a good year to get this book crossed off my TBR list!

Have you read Divergent? What are your thoughts?
Are you excited to see it coming to the big screen?

Monday Discussion: Covers!

---------------------------------------------------

Monday Discussion is a discussion I will post on Mondays (obviously) if I don't have a book to review that week.

---------------------------------------------------

This week's discussion will be about COVERS!

I'm sure you know the old saying "don't judge a book by it's cover" but I am very guilty of doing this. If I'm browsing Amazon or a bookstore I most likely won't click on or pick up a book that's cover doesn't intrigue me. I think having an amazing and original book cover is what is going to help a book sell.

How about you? Do you judge a book by it's cover or will you pick up any book? If it's not the cover that draws you to a book then what does?

Also, I'm not a big fan of movie book covers. If I'm buying a book that has been made into a movie I will look for the book with the original book cover before I will pick up the one with the movie cover. What are your thoughts of movie book covers?

I wonder what drew a reader to pick up a book back in the day when all that was on a book cover was the title of the book and the authors name? It's crazy how much books have changed over the years!

Let me know your thoughts on covers and why you think they are or are not important!

Cover Reveal: The Beast Within

------------------------------------------------------------

Coming March 2013...

SYNOPSIS:

If only it were as simple as love triangles, werewolves and vampires...

Once eighteen-year-old Connor Moore stumbles across an almost human species, he is faced with history’s darkest secret, a daunting future, and a love life he can’t even begin to explain.

Concealed throughout the pages of time, there has been a powerful race of human-like creatures manipulating mankind. This Elite race is made up of five ruling families, who have obeyed The Law and remained content to keep their identities a mystery. Now after centuries of secrecy, an ancient foe is forcing them out of hiding.

When a dark-haired mystery woman named Laren crosses Connor’s path his life is turned upside down. Soon Connor is taken on a heart-pounding journey that leads to a startling discovery of who he really is and a daunting future of what he is to become.

MY THOUGHTS:

I really love the cover of this book! I like both of the characters eyes and the different colors. They really draw me in because now I want to know why the guy's eyes are red and the girl's eyes are yellow. I also really like the font of the title.

What are your thoughts?!
